Rihanna is beautiful to say the least - I’m guessing she’s got GREAT genes! This stunning star hit the TV screens for her Umbrella video clip and jaws DROPPED at how amazing she looked. The star admits she got her butt into gear for this album and has reaped the results with an incredible figure.

Born in Saint Michael, Barbados Rihanna’s first taste of fame was much like fellow celeb Eva Longoria’s - winning a school’s Beauty Pageant.

However Rihanna’s first BIG break came when she was introduced to music producer Evan Rogers who later (along with business partner Carl Sturken) help her record her first demo.

At the young age of 20 Rihanna has released THREE albums: Music Of The Sun, A Girl Like Me and her most recent (and most successful album) Good Girl Gone Bad. I can’t believe this girl is MY AGE!

Well this Barbados beauty combined a healthy (albeit strict) diet, strength training and cardio to get her amazing new physique.

The Diet Behind Rihanna’s Weight Loss

Rihanna’s diet is mostly low carbs and low fat protein. After looking at it I would recommend a few more carbs and protein myself but this is what she did . . .

She stocked her fridge full of veges, eggs and lean protein.

Her daily meal plan looked like this:

Meal 1: Fruit and Water

Snack: Fruit

Lunch: Soup

Snack: Egg Whites

Dinner: Chicken or Fish

The above diet is a BIT borderline in my opinion. Making a few changes would make this a WHOLE lot healthier.

Try this meal plan instead:

Meal 1: Oatmeal and Fruit

Snack: Handful of Almonds and a piece of Fruit

Lunch: Salad with Chicken or Fish

Snack: Protein Shake

Dinner: Chicken or Fish with steamed Broccoli, Spinach and Beans

Thankfully Rihanna does have the right mindset about her weight loss. The star says, "I’m trying to eat healthy. That’s making me lose weight without even thinking about it. I’m not intentionally trying to get skinny."

The Workout Behind Rihanna’s Weight Loss

Rihanna weight loss Rihanna has been working with a celeb trainer top get her body in tip top shape.

Her workout regime involves both cardio and strength training to get her body curvy but toned.

Rihanna said, "I work with a trainer. We work on the arms. I don’t want manly, muscular arms. We work out my butt because I love my butt. But my legs are my main focus. I’m obsessed."

Rihanna hits the treadmill for runs 3 times a week - thats her cardio. And then she pairs up with her trainer for strength work to tone up.

Eva focuses on toning and building muscle because she is tiny naturally (jealous much).

Her cardio activities of choice include skipping, hiking and jogging.

For strength training she likes to mix it up because she gets bored easily. Eva says, -I do squats and lunges - anything for my butt. My big concern is gravity taking its toll.-

Day 5 of the Red Carpet Ready Program and I Have Some News!!!!!!

Hi Guys

As you all know I’m doing the Red Carpet Ready program at the moment.

I’m doing it both to tone up my body because I’m going on holiday in May AND to test it out for all our readers :)

I’m only on Day 5 and already I’ve got some exciting results.

So far I am really enjoying the program and I can honestly say I have not cheated once AND I have exercised every day!

Wanna know why? Because it is EASY!

I just wake up, look at the list of foods I can pick from and go for it. I am honestly enjoying the workouts because it is quick and completely planned for you.

Here’s the stuff I’ve found so far:

* I’ve had HEAPS more energy just because I’m eating the right foods to fuel my body. I’ve literally worked 10 to 12 hours a day everyday this week because I just wasn’t tired.

* I haven’t felt the need to eat something naughty because you so regularly you don’t get hungry.

* I’m feeling tighter around my tummy and backside after doing just 2 strength workouts so far!

Annnnnnnnnd last but not least - I’VE LOST 1 KILO ALREADY!!

Yep after just 5 days I’ve lost a kilo! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Oh for the American’s thats about 2.2 pounds. . .

Anyway so thats my news. I’ll keep you posted on my results.

Weight Loss Secrets Straight From A Celebrity Trainer

After researching HEAPS of stars for our awesome new celebrity weight loss sections I noticed heaps of our favourite celebrities are being trained by a lady called Valerie Waters.

My curiousity was aroused and so I went straight to Google it to see exactly WHO this Valerie Waters was! Read on to see what I found out.

Ok so I googled her, checked out her site and found out she is HUGE in Hollywood. Not only has she been a personal trainer for a star studded line up but shes also been in charge of getting entire CASTS into shape for movies! Anyone jealous??

Are you impressed? Well I AM!!!!! :) I also have to add that Valerie has worked with some of these celebrities for YEARS and over multiple films.

Anyway so I noticed Valerie had released an ebook called Red Carpet Ready. It was a 6 week program that promised to get you a red carpet worthy body through a healthy diet, cardio and strength training.

I decided to buy Valerie’s book as I was curious and wanted to see what all the talk was about. I downloaded the ebook and got straight into it. . .

So what did I think of Red Carpet Ready?

I was amazed! Truly and completely blown away by how Valerie had put together all the information you need to lose some serious weight.

I have read HEAPS of fitness and weight loss books in my time here at UWLS and even before and I can honestly say I have never been more impressed and inspired by a book.

In fact I have to admit I started the 6 week program on Monday and am logging the results to show you all at the end of the 6 weeks (I’ll keep you posted).

Anyway back to the book . . .

Valerie kicks it off with a bit of background on her life, how she got into the fitness industry and the day that kicked off her celeb training career - the day she got the phone call to train Cindy Crawford (what a day huh!)

Next Valerie talks about her beliefs with regards to training, dieting and her general approach to healthy living. Her whole belief system is refreshing!

The book then moves into ’setting the stage.’ Valerie gives you great advice about preparing your physical environment as well as your emotional environment. She gives great goal setting tips as well as several crucial steps to take before kicking off the 6 week program.

Valerie then hits you with some AWESOME nutriton information. It’s not long winded or scientific just the facts (I loved that part). She gives honest advice on what to eat, when to eat and just generally how to be fuel your body in the best possible way.

Rather than giving you a strict meal plan Valerie gives you a huge list of good foods and you can pick and choose as you please. This gives you so much more flexibility and helps you stick to it.

** Can I just add now that in the 5 days I’ve been on the program I’ve lost 1 KG!

Finally you’ll move onto the exercise phase. Valerie makes it incredibly easy.

She literally gives you step by step pictures of how to do every exercise she recommends PLUS they can all be done in your lounge room (just push the coffee table out of the way).

Her program recommends a mix of cardio and strength training. I already feel tighter after just 3 workouts!

The last section gives you heaps of extra tools like measurement charts, goal setting sheets and even a full 6 week calendar that’s pre filled for you!

I’ve chatted to Valerie about her book and she’s told me how pleased she is to finally be releasing the book she’s worked so hard on.

The Red Carpet Ready book has been tested on heaps of her celebrity clients to prove it works (they’re bodies speak for themselves). Valerie told me personally that the book is LITERALLY the program she uses on most of her celeb clients.

She’s tweaked it heaps to make sure it was totally perfect before making it available for all of us. Now all of us can get on her celebrity weight loss secrets.

This red hot babe has graced the world’s most prestigious runways and there’s not stopping her yet. Arguably the most famous member of the Victoria Secret Angels, Heidi is a wife and mother of 3 children - YES THREE! So lets have a look at how Heidi Klum gets those measurements.

heidi klum measurementsGerman Heidi Klum has dabbled in everything. While her main reign has been as a supermodel, Heidi has also grabbed attention as a fashion designer, TV producer, actress and occassional singer.

Heidi has appeared on a number of TV series including Sex and The City and Spin City among others. But thats not it, Heidi also graced the movie screens in Ella Enchanted, The Devil Wears Prada and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers and more.

Heidi Klum was also the executive product of the well known reality show Project Runway in which budding fashion designers competed for a chance to showcase at New York Fashion Week.

Clever cookie huh! So back to THAT body . . .

What we all want to know is HOW Heidi Klum’s achieved those awe inspiring measurements. Those measurements that got her back on the runway just 7 WEEKS after giving birth to son Henry. Thats her in the silver outfit just 7 weeks later - Your jaw just dropped right? I know mine did!

Heidi Klum Diet

Heidi Klum used David Kirsch’s ‘The Ultimate New York Diet’ to get in shape after giving birth.

The Ultimate New York Diet involves 3 phases:

Phase 1

* Two weeks long
* Anti-bloating foods
* Say no to coffee, alcohol, bread, sweets, starchy carbs, fruit
* Say yes to egg whites, salmon, low GI veges, whey protein, chicken, nuts
* You will aim for 800 - 1000 calories a day

Phase 2

* Two weeks long
* Similar foods to phase 1 but you can add some starchy carbs like sweet potato, broccoli etc
* You will aim for 900-1000 calories a day

Phase 3

* This is the "long term" phase that you should continue to follow
* You will be allowed to incorporate some of the banned foods (from the previous phases) in moderation.

Heidi Klum ate 5 meals a day (once every 3 hours) but only between 7am and 7pm. David Kirsch made sure that even if Heidi only had 5 minutes to spare she at least had a protein shake as a snack.

The David Kirsch workout is quite strenuous involving 45 minutes of cardio work and another 45 minutes of strength training/body sculpting exercises.

Heidi Klum Measurements Some of the strength exercises David had yummy mummy Heidi Klum doing were:

Reverse Lunges
Squat Thrusts
Shadowboxing
Pushups
Stepups
Reverse Crunches

Well the workout obviously works because Heidi was back on the runway for Victoria Secrets lingerie in just SEVEN WEEKS!

This diet worked well for Heidi because she had a deadline and needed to reshape her body. This diet isn’t easy but without a doubt will give you results if you have something coming up you HAVE to be ready for.

Heidi lives a healthy lifestyle anyway with husband Seal and her 3 kids. She says, ‘I think I have pretty good nutrition and fitness habits, and actually, it’s my lifestyle in general. I don’t go overboard with anything. I eat what I want, but not loads of anything unhealthy. And I exercise when I can, but not every single day or when I’m exhausted.’

Jessica Biel has been on our screens for quite a few years now and she seems to have got hotter and hotter. The model turned actress has been grabbing attention in the media around the world recently for both her amazing physique and some very cool movie roles! Well Jennifer does watch what she eats (as should all of us, just to be healthy if nothing else) and has long been linked with the Zone Diet. Jennifer reportedly joins other celebrities including Charlie Sheen, Brad Pitt and Renee Zellweger.

The Zone Diet is based on the principle of every meal having 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. The theory is that this formula will allow the ultimate fat burning potential by keeping your blood sugar levels regulated and thus controlling insulin levels.

Basically Jennifer Aniston’s celebrity weight loss diet would incorporate:

* Lean protein like chicken, turkey and fish

* Lots of fruit and veges (take potatoes off the shopping list though)

* Some good fats like avocado, nuts and olive oil

The Zone Diet also has a range of pre-packaged meals so you don’t have to figure out the exact formula at every meal!

Jennifer adds cardio to maximise her workout often doing 20 to 30 minutes before a yoga session. She is often seen walking or jogging on the beach right by her house too - much to dog Norman’s delight. Soft sand jogging in particular is a GREAT calorie burner and uses all sorts of muscles!
