Revealing Interview With Valerie Waters - Part Three

Yep the third and final installment of our interview with celebrity trainer Valerie Waters is here today :)

If you haven’t read part one and two click the links below:

Part One

Part Two

You’re going to learn heaps from this part as Valerie gives us the scoop on how you can get a celebrity body too!

10. What do you think is different about your approach?

Unlike 90% of my peers, I understand what a woman means when she says she doesn-t want to get too muscular. This is a real fear. I have had countless women come to me over the years frustrated because the program they were on bulked them up or made their quads too big. Many gave up on weight training all together before finding their way to me.

I believe in weight training but I also believe women can get -too muscular- for what they desire. I have created very specific programming that will get them toned and fit but still 100% feminine.

I can add curves in the right places while still allowing them to feel small. Other women want to get really strong and athletic looking. I applaud that. I can create that look too (I think it-s easier) but that is not my niche. My girls want to look Red Carpet Ready!

11. What do you love most about Red Carpet Ready?

That you can get amazing results without spending 2 hours per day in the gym. I think the program teaches you how to change your behavior. While it is a 6 week program, I know that long after the six weeks are over you will have the tools and motivation to continue working out and eating the Red Carpet Ready way.

12. What can you expect your body to look like with Red Carpet Ready?

Red Carpet Ready will help you transform your body. The program will give you :

* A great, rounded butt
* Toned but lean legs
* Slim waist
* Flat, feminine stomach
* Toned, slim arms (not too muscular)
* Sculpted back

13. Leave us with a quote. . .

I believe in the power of exercise to change your state. No matter how much you don-t want to workout you are always happy you did. My clients are trained on my motto, -You are just one workout away from a good mood.-

Revealing Interview With Valerie Waters - Part Two

As I was telling you yesterday we managed to get an interview with awesome celebrity trainer Valerie Waters who’s worked with the likes of Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Garner, Richard Gere and more.

If you didn’t see Part One of the interview with Valerie Waters click here to read it now.

Enjoy this candid interview with a trainer who’s clients are obvious proof of her talent and experience!

5. What foods do you think should be in everyone’s daily diet?

If you want to be lean you must eat your veggies! This is the cornerstone of every diet book and the number 1 rule of every fit body you see. Other great foods are Oatmeal, blueberries, wild salmon, grass fed beef, free range eggs, and quinoa to name a few.

6. What’s your favourite healthy food/meal?

I love breakfast! One of my favorites is an egg white omelette with lots of veggies. Sushi is my favorite for dinner. When I am being really good I order Sashimi and one roll without rice. And when I-m not being good, I eat the rice.

7. What’s your favorite naughty/cheat food?

Movie popcorn with peanut M&M-s mixed in.

8. What exercise should EVERYONE do?

Weight training is the single most important thing you should be doing. If you are worried about bulking up, then follow a circuit strength program like Red Carpet Ready. The program will ask you to do 3 full body strength workouts and 1-2 cardio sessions per week.

1-2 times per week of yoga is great. And cardio doesn-t have to be boring. Go hiking with a friend. Take up surfing or mountain biking. I have a couple of clients taking pole dancing and they love it. Working out takes some effort but it should be fun too!

9. What’s your favourite workout or exercise?

I love a really great strength circuit. I want to work hard, get sweaty and feel tired afterwards. There is nothing better than the buzz you get from a great workout!

I also love yoga. I don-t always want to go, but afterwards I-m glad I did. For recreation, I surf. I-m not very good but I have fun while burning a ton of calories.

TUNE IN TOMORROW FOR PART THREE!

Revealing Interview With Valerie Waters - Part One

Valerie WatersNo doubt you all will have read about Valerie on our site - we’re big fans! :) Already Valerie has a weekly tips section and this week she gave me a revealing look into her life as a personal trainer to the stars!

This will be a three part series (she gave us HEAPS of info and tips!) so make sure you tune in over the next week for this awesome information.

Read on to get Part One of our exciting interview with Celebrity Trainer Valerie Waters :)

Valerie Waters is a personal trainer to some of the biggest names in Hollywood and has been for over a decade. Her client list over her time as personal trainer looks like the invite list to an Oscars after party including Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Garner, Rachel Nichols, Jim Carrey, Poppy Montgomery, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Richard Gere and Lauren Holly.

Valerie’s developed a program called Red Carpet Ready through her work with celebrities. Ready Carpet Ready is a 6 week full body transformation incorporating a healthy diet and an easy to use exercise program.

1. How long have you been working a personal trainer?

I have been a personal trainer for 18 years and I still love it!

2. What do you love most about the industry?

I love turning people on to fitness and watching how their self esteem and confidence increases as they become more fit. I love learning about new fun ways to get and stay fit and then sharing it with my clients. This is actually a very exciting to be in this business. The industry has really grown in the last 5-6 years and continues to evolve.

3. What do you love most about working with celebrities specifically?

I love training all kinds of people but celebrities are particularly fun for a couple of reasons.

1. Usually when I get a call from a celebrity, it is because of an upcoming movie role, photo shoot or red carpet event they-re getting ready for. This makes them very motivated. Anytime you have a highly motivated client, you are more likely to see results quickly. Then of course, other people notice how great they look and you have a walking "buildboard."

2. Part of what all clients do with their trainers is share personal stories. When your client is a celebrity the stories are usually pretty entertaining. Such as -when I was at the Oscars-

Mariah Carey’s Diet - Get An Inside Look Now!

Mariah Carey has curves like there’s no tomorrow. This singer, producer and actress is in the best shape I’ve seen her - maybe its her new hubby Nick Cannon’s influence! Mariah Carey’s weight loss has hit the headlines recently with her appearing trim and terrific at a music gala in NYC.

Today we’ll delve into Mariah Carey’s diet and workout routine to unveil the mystery surrounding her huge weight loss.

Mariah debuted in 1990 with her first self-titled album and 11 albums later she’s still enjoying success at the top of the charts! While she’s had a few ups and downs with record company dramas and album flops she’s one of the longest reigning diva’s in the music world.

Mariah’s toured the world a number of times, she writes, she produces and she acts, she endorses and has even released her own line of perfume.

Mariah Carey has also donated both funds and time to many charities and causes including the Fresh Air Fund, Camp Mariah, Make A Wish Foundation, Live 8 and Hurricane Katrina (among others.)

Mariah Carey’s Weight Loss

Mariah Carey’s hit the headlines for a number of reasons recently:

1. She’s just married her boyfriend of ONE MONTH fellow celeb Nick Cannon (complete with couples tattoos…)

2. She has been flaunting her brand new figure after her 30 pound weight loss.

Mariah Carey Weight Loss Mariah Carey emerged early in 2008 with this amazing body spurring rumors of surgery around the world. There was no revolutionary miracle behind Mariah Carey’s weight loss just good old fashioned diet and exercise…

Mariah Carey’s Diet

Mariah Carey admits her weight loss secret is a pretty boring but healthy diet. Her diet involved 1000 to 1500 calories a day and a portion controlled eating plan designed for her by personal trainer and nutritionist Patricia Gay (more about her later).

When asked how she achieved her smoking new body Mariah says, ‘My secret is bleak diets. Basically soups and fish prepared really blandly.’ Mariah’s trainer Patricia told the starlet to stop cooking in oil, cut out naughty snacks and her usual comfort foods.

Mariah Carey’s diet behind her 30 pound weight loss incorporates non fat dairy products, fresh fruit, wholegrain rice, fish, chicken, grilled/baked vegetables plus HEAPS of water (Mariah is rumored to drink around 3 litres a day).

Mariah’s a big fan of the 95/5 rule. Her secret is eating healthy 95% of the time and enjoy your favourite treats 5%. The star even created her own diet, known as the Morsel diet.

Mariah Carey DietMariah says, ‘I kind of invented it (the morsel diet). Basically, you can have a tiny bit of everything you want. When I-m really, really, hungry I-ll be like -I need a morsel!- So they-ll give me whatever there is [on the plate], but it has to be less than a forkful.’

Mariah Carey’s Exercise

A "bleak" diet wasn’t the only secret behind Mariah’s new bod… Yep she does exercise too!

Her personal trainer Patricia Gay has been with Mariah for years now and gets flown wherever the starlet is to get her moving and looking HOT! Because Mariah travels so often their workout routine varies but is always intensive. The sessions last around an 90 minutes and usually take place 3 to 4 days a week.

Mariah works out regularly but her trainer says they try to focus on her diet the most. Patricia says, ‘If she is serious about the food, then she doesn’t have to work out that much. Right before she has a show or wants to wear a special dress, I know to push her a bit.’

Mariah Carey’s exercise regime involves a lot of pool work as the star loves the water. Her workout routine has centered around the pool including water aerobics, swimming laps and using floats to exercise specific body parts.

Patricia says, ‘She loves the ocean and the waves. The key to fitness is to do something you love, because if you don’t love it, you won’t do much of it. Aqua exercise is all about using the water for resistance like you would use weights outside of the water. In water exercises, the muscles get stronger, but not bigger.’

Mariah also incorporates some pilates and resistance work into her workout. Patricia says, ‘We work out specific muscles through Pilates. We work out the butt, sometimes using weights and stretching.’

Mariah admits she will never fit in to the Hollywood Size 0 fad but she doesn’t want to either! Mariah says, ‘I don-t feel like you have to be a size zero. We should all just embrace who we are physically. I’m not supposed to be a stick-figure girl. It’s just not me.’

Good on you Mariah, you’re looking AMAZING!

A Food Combining Diet - Is It For You?

I keep hearing about these people who use food combining both for weight loss and just generally to feel better in the tummy region….

The theory behind a food combining diet is that the body was not designed to eat such a huge range of foods at once. Food combiner’s believe that the body was designed to require a certain PH or acidity level to digest foods and that mismatching foods impairs this process.

Experts in the food combining arena say that incomplete digestion is one of the leading causes of illness around the world.

There are a couple of ways the body can break down food:

a) Enzyme Breakdown - this is the body’s natural path and the ideal digestion scenario.

b) Bacterial Breakdown - this is what happens when the PH/acidity is off due to mismatching foods.

Bacterial breakdown can cause havoc with your body leading to ailments including candida, bloating, burping, fatigue, headaches, flatulence, diarrhoea or constipation.

How Much Does Sarah Jessica Parker Weigh and How Does She Do It!

People often wonder how much does Sarah Jessica Parker weigh because this pint sized actress flaunts her teeny figure all over NYC. For a mum of one her flat tummy and taut muscles are entirely impressive.

Sarah Jessica Parker is well known for her role as the delightful Carrie in hugely popular sitcom Sex and the City and the upcoming movie (which I am DYING to see!)

Read on to find out how much Sarah Jessica Parker weighs and how she gets her fabulous figure

Sarah Jessica Parker is an actress and producer best known for her role on Sex and the City for which she’s won a string of awards including 4 Golden Globes, 2 Screen Actors Guild and 2 Emmy’s - impressive huh!

Married to producer Matthew Broderick with one son James the star is showing no signs of slowing down after appearing in a range of different projects in recent years including Failure to Launch, The Family Stone and Honeymoon in Vegas among others.

Sarah has also produced a fashion line, perfume and has countless endorsements for Garnier.

How Much Does Sarah Jessica Parker weigh?

This teeny actress has a figure to die for, I know I’ve often stared in envy as Carrie flocks around NYC in Sex and the City series. So how much does Sarah Jessica Parker weigh and how does she do it!

How Much Does Sarah Jessica Parker Weigh I’d put Sarah’s weight at between 105 and 110 pounds because she’s very lean and only about 5 ft 4".

Sarah Jessica Parker’s been linked to the South Beach diet and the Zone diet which are based on low carbs and high protein. Sarah eats lots of eggs and lean meat while cutting down on the heavy carbs like potatoes, bread, pasta and white rice.

While Sarah is conscious of what she eats, she admits she’s pretty lucky with her fast metabolism and doesn’t have to be too strict nor does she want to.

Food is a passion of Sarah and Matthew’s and the star laughingly says, ‘we’re busy planning our next meal while while we’re eating the one we’ve got!’

One thing Sarah Jessica Parker does do is never leave home on an empty stomach so that she’s not tempted by the thousands of food stands on the New York City footpaths.

Sarah admits she’s not one of those stars who loves to slave away at the gym all day and instead incorporates every day exercise into her daily routine.

Sarah says, ‘I walk everywhere instead of taking a cab. I don’t have a fitness routine and I don’t work on my figure at all, but I do try to sneak some exercise into my life any way I can.’

Sarah Jessica Parker achieves her weight and fabulous figure by climbing the stairs, walking to her next appointment and generally living actively with her husband and son. She also is a fan of yoga to decompress after her hectic schedule.

So there you have it more celebrity weight loss secrets unveiled . . .

And that’s a wrap! :)

The Definition of a Fad Diet

Fad diets are increasingly becoming a dangerous reality of modern living.

Everywhere you look there are more fad diet companies coming on the market ready to take your money with their outrageous claims of HEAPS of weight loss.

So what is the definition of a fad diet? Read on to find out so you know for sure :)

A official definition of a fad diet is ‘a reducing diet that enjoys temporary popularity.’

Make special notice of the "temporary popularity" - that is the epitome of fad diets!

Here’s how your fad diet experience will almost definitely go:

The fad diet will attract you with great sales pitches promising 10 pounds of weight loss in 5 days without any exercise.

You’ll get excited, buy the book/drink/food and get straight into it.

Eagerly you check the scales each day and watch the kilos melt away.

By Day 3 you’re starting to feel bored with the mundane soup or cranky from the lack of carbs.

Day 5 comes and you find yourself fantasizing about what you’re going to eat tomorrow after the diet ends.

The diet has come to an end and you’re clothes are fitting and you’re scales look great. You think it is all worth it!

Finally the diet is over and you think a celebration is in order. It’s time to treat yourself. You run to the shops grab every chocolate and pastry you can get your hands.

Over the next few days you try everything you missed during the strict fad diet in BIG amounts.

You check the scales and BAM it’s all back.

Fad Diet strikes again! :(

Fad Diets

I bet the above story rings a bell with most of you. I know it does for me. I’ve been there, done that.

Reality is that unless you change your lifestyle, unless you treat yourself from time to time, unless you exercise regularly you will NOT lose weight long term and you will NOT have a healthy body.

I am the first to admit that it is very tempting to lose weight fast. Everyone wants a killer body and everyone wants it NOW.

Here are some of the most common fad diets:

* Atkins
* Cabbage Soup Diet
* 3 Day Diet
* Negative Calorie Diet
* Grapefruit Diet
* Hollywood Diet
* Chocolate Diet
* Master Cleanse (aka Lemonade Diet)
* Juice Diet
* Chicken Soup Diet

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t fall victim to the above, if for no other reason than for your health.

You might have seen my post on the effects of fad diets, if not click the link and read it now!

Anywayyyyy back to it . . .

Now you know the definition of fad diet and the signs to look out for I HOPE you will be better equipped to make the right choice :)
