Weight loss fad diets are everywhere! They’re there when you turn on the television, when you search the Internet, when you’re flicking through a magazine at the doctors or even your Sunday newspaper.

Categories
There are 3 categories where a weight loss fad diet can be identified. These categories determine what kind of dieting is being promoted:

6. Unprocessed meat products

9. Rice crackers, rice crispies, corn tortillas, taco shells made from corn.
10. Gluten-free pasta, bean or rice vermicelli, buckwheat noodles, and rice noodles.
11. Condiments like tomato paste, jam, honey, cocoa, vinegar, honey, tahini, and some salad dressings and sauces.
12. Snacks like plain corn chips, plain chocolate, and popcorn.
13. Drinks like coffee, tea, mineral water, and spirits.
A few precautions
Be careful when buying foods that are labelled as -wheat-free- because it does not necessarily mean that they are gluten-free. When buying food, read the ingredients on the labels and be aware of the kinds of hidden gluten like those that can be found in different food additives and medications. Also, be aware that there are products that have -modified food starch- written on their labels because they may contain gluten.
Stuff to remember
The gluten free diet may seem a little overwhelming at first. However, with enough knowledge, information and support, you can incorporate the diet into your lifestyle without any problems. Having Celiac Disease does not mean you have to stop eating majority of your favorite foods because despite several restrictions, you can still enjoy a variety of foods included in the diet. The Atkins diet has stemmed controversy around the globe for decades. Introduced by Dr Robert Atkins in the 70’s, the diet has been condemned by a number of influential industry bodies as being dangerous to the public and yet overweight and vulnerable people are still being sucked into this "revolutionary" weight loss plan.

The Atkins Diet Plan
The first two weeks of the atkins weight loss diet plan is called the -induction- period. During this time, dieters are allowed to eat no more than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day.
Foods that contain carbohydrates include cereals, fruits, vegetables (potatoes, corn, carrots, peas, zucchini, broccoli) bread, milk, grains, pasta, starches, etc.
This translates into a diet consisting of nearly unlimited amounts of meats, poultry, seafood, oils, butter, margarine, bacon, eggs, cheeses and sausages.
The 20 gram carb limit is generally derived from trace amounts of carbs in sauces, cheeses and a couple cups of lettuce greens or vegetables daily.
After the first two weeks, dieters can stat adding about 5 more grams of carbohydrates to their diet weekly.
Gradually, the program’s goal is to maintain a diet consisting of no more than 40-90 grams of carbohydrates. This is the part of the program that is called the "maintenance" phase.
A typical Atkins Weight Loss Plan menu looks like this:
Breakfast - Omelet with bacon or ham and onions 2 slices tomato
Lunch - Tossed salad Spicy burger with cheese (no bun)
Dinner - Baked salmon or Halibut Steamed broccoli with lemon juice and pepper
Snack - guacamole with raw veggies
